O w l s sweater

Somehow owls came to be ubiquitous in the winter of 2013/14. By chance I came across the lovely owls sweater pattern by Kate Davies. It is a very effective and not terribly difficult pattern, although it required me, a relatively seasoned knitter, to learn a few new tricks (e.g. learning to read a knitting pattern in English!). The jumper is knitted in the round, which means there are no seams. The wool is from the lovely New Lanark website. Any money that supports the work of the Welsh social reformer and co-operatist Robert Owen is money well spent in my books. And the wool is lovely. Real wool, thus a bit scratchy, but wonderfully warm. This was the first jumper I’d knitted in what seemed half a lifetime. I can’t wait to knit another one…
